5 players who made history after scoring five goals in a game

We have witnessed such occasions in football when players go berserk and score five goals in a match, one of the rarest moments we get to see in football. 

It is always entertaining to see goal galore in a match and more fascination when a single player scores them all. In modern times it is really hard to score many goals in a game, and scoring even a hat-trick has become difficult in this era; players tend to score a brace, or on very few occasions, if they are in form, they score a hat-trick. 

There are so many talented players who have scored hat-tricks but quadruple and quintuple and made history, and it is one of the best moments for the player to score quintuple. On that note, let’s look at these players who made the football look easy by netting five goals.

#5 Radamel Falcao

In the process, he stole the clout from the league’s all-time top-scorers Messi and Ronaldo and became the first player after Morientes to struck 5 goals in a La Liga game.

#3 Robert Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski has been Bayern’s one of the lethal strikers; with his great finishing ability, the prolific goal-scorer is among top best strikers in football. 

During his 2015-2016 season at Bayern, Lewandowski also joined the group of players who scored five goals in a match. However, Lewandowski came as a substitute and struck 5 goals against Wolfsburg in (8 minutes 59 seconds)    

 One of the fastest players to score 5 goals in a game, creating a new record for scoring the most goals by a substitute player in the German top-flight.

#2 Cristiano Ronaldo 

When it comes to goal-scoring abilities, the Portuguese tops the list. When the Real Madrid talisman is rampant, all you see is the raining of goals in the matches.

Ronaldo also joined the group of players who have scored five goals in a game, although it’s a different story in Ronaldo’s case. The Portuguese has scored quintuple twice and is the only player in football history to do so. 

Ronaldo first netted his five-goal was against Granada when Real Madrid ran riot in a 9-1 win over Granada in a Liga game of the 2015-16 season. Within few months, Ronaldo again smashed five goals in a 6-0-win over Espanyol in the 2016-17 season, and the Spanish giants went on to win the club title.

The Barcelona superstar put five past the Germans as it was Lionel Messi night, and the Spanish giants thrashed Bayern Leverkusen 5-0 and won the game 7-1 in aggregate of 2011-12 UEFA Champions League in a Round of 16.  

 It made Lionel Messi the first-ever player in UCL history to score five goals.
